When Lord Krishna wielded the Sudarshan Chakra with 109 spokes, it used to rotate rapidly and return to his finger after destroying the enemies. According to mythological belief, this Sudarshan Chakra was given to Lord Shri Krishna by Parshuram in Dwapara Yuga. However, it is also believed that this chakra was present with him since birth. Lord Shri Krishna used it from time to time to protect religion and destroy unrighteousness. In the Vedas it is considered a symbol of Lord Shri Vishnu. When did Krishna use Sudarshan Chakra?

In mythology, there is a description of Lord Shri Krishna running the Sudarshan Chakra many times. It is believed that when Shishupala’s finger got injured while performing Sudarshan Chakra and it started bleeding, Draupadi tore her anklet and tied it on him. This incident is also seen in connection with Rakshabandhan. According to mythological belief, apart from killing Shishupal, Lord Shri Krishna also used Sudarshan Chakra to kill the demon Narkasur.

Then Shri Krishna removed his Sudarshan Chakra from Surya and Arjun, taking the opportunity, killed him.
