A techie came up with the idea of AI integration after being fired from his job in appraisal. Impressed by this, the manager gave him a chance to prove the concept in 2 months, if it was successful he was promised a promotion.
A techie’s Reddit post has gone viral, in which he has shared a strange incident from his appraisal meeting. According to this post made on the community named @r/developersIndia, the employee had come to the meeting expecting a normal performance review. But there the story changed. The manager allegedly told him that there were no projects in the company at present, so he should start looking for a job elsewhere. The manager told the employee that keeping him at the company without a job would be “a waste of his potential.” Additionally, the employee was told that if he found another job during the two-month notice period, he could leave the company.
Recalling that conversation, the employee wrote, “A funny story happened. Last week I had an appraisal meeting and my manager asked me to look for a job outside. Told me that there are no projects in our company and we feel that it would be a waste of your ability.”
However, instead of succumbing to the circumstances, the employee decided to take a chance. During the conversation, he presented several ideas on how to integrate AI into the company’s website and use AI technology to grow the business. Just this one thing changed the entire atmosphere of the meeting.
The employee said, “I knew at that moment that I was fired, but then something interesting happened. I replied that I had ideas like integrating AI into our website and growing our business using AI.”
Reportedly, the manager asked the employee to wait and then called him back for another discussion. This time the tone of the conversation had completely changed. According to reports, the employee was told that if he successfully implemented the suggested AI concepts, his work would be judged for the next two months. If all goes well, he may also get promotion and an attractive salary package.

The employee later also admitted that his compulsion was a major reason behind speaking in the meeting. He told that he had already been looking for another job for three months, but he had not received a single offer.
