Afghanistan took some sweet revenge for their T20I series loss to Bangladesh, as they defeated the Bangla Tigers in the third ODI of the three-match series at the Sheikh Zayed International Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
The Afghans thus won the series by a margin of 3-0, thus whitewashing the visitors. This was a comprehensive win for Afghanistan, as they continue their brilliant form in ODI cricket. In fact, they have managed to create history, as they have broken a world record an become the first team ever to achieve a huge feat.
Afghanistan batted first and scored 293 runs in the first innings. In reply, they bowled out Bangladesh for a paltry 93 runs. They thus won the match by a mammoth margin of 200 runs. This is the first time that a team has won an ODI by a margin of 200 runs in Abu Dhabi. The previous highest margin of victory by runs in ODIs at this venue was by South Africa when they defeated Ireland by 174 runs in 2024.

Bilal Sami Shines As Afghanistan Crush Bangladesh In 3rd ODI
Afghanistan won the toss and opted to bat first in the final ODI of the series. They put up a massive total of 293 runs on the board at the end of the 50 overs, at the expense of 9 wickets. Ibrahim Zadran continued his great form in the series, with an innings of 95 runs. Mohammad Nabi provided some late momentum with an explosive innings of 67 from 32 balls.
In reply, the Bangladeshi batters never managed to get hold of the Afghan bowlers, as they were bundled out for 93 runs. Opener Saif Hassan, with 43 runs, was the only Bangladesh batter to go past double digits. Medium pacer Bilal Sami was the star of the show in just his second ODI as he picked up a five-wicket haul, finishing with figures of 5/33.
