A rejection email sent by a recruiter went viral after a candidate shared it in hopes of sparking outrage. The email pointed out lazy mistakes made by the candidate, such as AI-written cover letters and spelling mistakes. But the Internet praised the recruiter.
Viral News: It’s common to receive rejection emails when applying for a job, which often seem repetitive and robotic. But recently a recruiter is going viral because of his candid and very detailed rejection email. In this email, lazy mistakes of a candidate were enumerated. The matter came to light when a candidate posted his rejection email received on June 4 online. This email was sent by the hiring manager of Limestone Digital, a software development company in Prague. Instead of giving an automated response, the recruiter calmly explained why the application was rejected.
The recruiter wrote that the cover letter “appeared to be written by AI” and did not provide the required information. The take-home assignments given to candidates used placeholders such as “temp1, temp2, temp3” and had no testing or comments. And the worst part? The candidate misspelled the company name “Limestone Digital” twice. All this happened when he described his strength as “attention to detail”.
The hiring manager wrote: “If you re-send an application that looks like you wrote and read it yourself before sending it in, we’ll take a second look. No cooldown period, no distractions.”
This viral post overshadowed the candidate himself. Instead of anger rising against the company, the tables turned completely upside down. The internet overwhelmingly supported Limestone Digital and praised the recruiter for providing so much free advice in a tough job market.

One user wrote, “They are giving you a chance to try again. What could be a better rejection letter than this,” while another said, “I wish I too had received such a clear rejection. This is very constructive… better than wandering in the dark.”
The recruiter was greatly appreciated for taking the time to provide feedback. One user wrote, “This feedback is really great. You should send him a thank you message. But don’t have AI write it.” Some people were so impressed that one wrote, “I want to work for whoever wrote this.”
