The government has taken a very important decision regarding the sale and distribution of fuel in the country. According to the new notification issued by the government, now new restrictions have been imposed on the sale of motor spirit and high-speed diesel (HSD) from retail outlets. Under these new rules, no vehicle or customer will be able to buy more than 200 liters of high-speed diesel from the petrol pump in a day. Along with this, commercial and institutional customers have been banned from purchasing fuel directly from retail petrol pumps. This entire system will initially be applicable for the next 90 days.
Changed rules for commercial customers
According to the new guidelines, commercial customers will no longer be allowed to buy fuel from general retail petrol pumps. The government has given clear instructions that these commercial customers will now have to get their required petrol or high-speed diesel from their own consumer pumps.
You will get a limit of only 200 liters in a day
It has been made clear in the notification that petrol pump dealers have been given strict instructions that they will not sell more than 200 liters of high-speed diesel in a day to any customer or vehicle. Since the fuel tank capacity of a normal car is much less than 200 litres, it will not have any significant impact on the daily life of common car owners. Its main impact will be on those carrying diesel in heavy trucks or big drums for generators. Along with this, there is a complete ban on reselling the purchased high-speed diesel at any price.
What is high-speed diesel?
The diesel which is commonly used in the market is called high-speed diesel in technical language. It is a high quality standard fuel prepared from petroleum. High-Speed Diesel (HSD) Primarily used for automobile engines (cars, buses, trucks) with speeds greater than 750 RPM, it is most commonly used in everyday cars, commercial trucks, construction equipment and power generators. Apart from this, it is also used as the main fuel in machines used in farming, off-road construction sites, gas turbines and heavy equipment related to petroleum drilling.
This new system will remain in effect for 90 days
This new arrangement related to fuel sales has been initially fixed for a period of 90 days. This means that for the next three months, the sale of fuel at petrol pumps will be under these strict rules. However, it has also been made clear in the government notification that if the government wishes, it can withdraw these restrictions even before the end of this 90 day limit by issuing a new order.
