The roar of a Ferrari is something every super car lover and enthusiast knows, but what if the next Ferrari doesn’t roar, rather it hums?
So this is where the Italian supercar legend is entering a new era with the launch of its first all-electric car, the Ferrari Elettrica which is set to be unveiled on December 10, 2025, during the company’s Capital Markets Day. And this is not just another new model, but it is the moment Ferrari steps into the electric vehicle age.
For decades, Ferrari has built its fame on powerful engines, but now, the automaker is embracing electricity while keeping its superiority for performance alive. The Elettrica is part of Ferrari’s multi-energy strategy, which includes petrol, hybrid and fully electric cars. The company says this EV carries technology developed since 2009, which is inspired by Formula 1 hybrid systems.
The Elettrica isn’t just an electric car, rather it is a reimagined Ferrari. Its short wheelbase design places the battery low in the car, lowering the centre of gravity by 80 mm, as compared to a regular Ferrari. That means tighter handling, faster cornering and a more balanced feel.
Built with 75% recycled aluminium, each car reduces 6.7 tonnes of carbon-dioxyde (CO₂) emissions during the production. Under the skin, it carries two electric axles with four motors, one in the front and one at the rear. The front axle produces 281.6 bhp and can switch off for rear-wheel drive fun, while the rear axle delivers a whopping 831 bhp and up to 8000 Nm of torque particularly in “Performance Launch” mode.
Ferrari’s engineers didn’t stop there, in fact the in-house battery pack which is made of 15 modules and 210 cells, delivers 195 Wh/kg energy density and operates at 800 volts. It is also a structural part of the car which improves safety and rigidity. And while many EVs use artificial sounds, Ferrari found a smarter way, as the Elettrica uses real mechanical vibrations from the motors which are amplified to create a true Ferrari soundtrack.
With over 60 patented technologies, the Ferrari Elettrica blends tradition and technology with the future. This one is silent, sustainable and lightning-fast, which is proof that even in the electric era, Ferrari’s spirit remains alive.
