“He wants me to take wickets in every over”: Kuldeep Yadav makes a bold prediction about new captain Shubman Gill

Kuldeep Yadav, who took eight wickets in the second Test against the West Indies, was named the Player of the Match. The champion spinner has been dealing in wickets across formats in international cricket and has almost cemented his place.

After India’s 7-wicket win over the West Indies in Delhi, Kuldeep opined on Shubman Gill’s captaincy.

The 26-year-old is two-Test series old as a skipper, and the right-handed batter was given the captain’s armband in one-day internationals as well. India National Cricket Team drew the five-match Test series 2-2 in England and thumped the West Indies by a margin of 2-0.

Kuldeep Yadav spoke to Aakash Chopra, Sanjay Bangar, Parthiv Patel and Anant Tyagi after the contest. He was asked to share his views on Gill’s leadership qualities.

“Shubman Gill trusts me a lot. He wants me to take wickets in every over. Whenever Gill gives me an over, he requests me to take wickets,” Kuldeep Yadav said.

“Gill gives me full freedom. He is a good leader, and the way he led in England and now against the West Indies shows his qualities. He will become a good captain for India,” Kuldeep Yadav said.
