Gill loses 5th consecutive toss as India make four changes for series-decider against England

New Delhi: India were invited to bat first against England in the fifth and final Test match at The Oval, London after losing the toss for the fifth consecutive time in the series. For the series-decider, India have made four changes in their playing XI with Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, Shardul Thakur and Anshul Kamboj not featuring in the side.

Akash Deep, Dhruv Jurel, Prasidh Krishna and Karun Nair have made their way into the playing XI for the crucial series finale. Out of the four players, Jurel would be fulfilling the role of a wicketkeeper and batter for the first time in the five-game series. In the previous match, he fulfilled the role of keeper in place of the injured Pant who had to out of the field due to a toe injury.

On the other hand, Ollie Pope would be leading England in this game in place of regular skipper Ben Stokes who was ruled out due to a shoulder injury while Jacob Bethell, Gus Atkinson, Jamie Overton, and Josh Tongue also make their way into the playing XI. England, who also have four changes, lead the five-match series 2-1.
