Veteran actor Nagarjuna Akkineni marked Tabu’s 55th birthday on November 4 by unveiling her first look from their upcoming film, ‘King 100’.
Nagarjuna shared the poster on social media, accompanied by a heartfelt message.
“Happy Birthday to Dear #Tabutiful! The world will never forget ‘(Pandu)’ from (Ninne Pelladuta)… and now you’ll be etched in our memories as ‘Mahanthi Jhansi Rani’. You made this film so special. Sharing a glimpse to celebrate U and this new fire. This time, it’s not love…,” he wrote, referencing their iconic Telugu film.
In the poster, Tabu is seen in a powerful political avatar, draped in a saree, exuding authority. The tagline, “This time, it’s not love… it’s war,” strongly suggests a departure from their previous romantic pairings. This reunion in ‘King 100’ comes almost three decades after their last significant on-screen collaboration.
Nagarjuna and Tabu first captivated audiences with their chemistry in the 1996 hit ‘Ninne Pelladuta’. They also shared screen space in ‘Aavida Maa Aavide’ and ‘Sisindri’. Their enduring friendship has often been a topic of public discussion, though both actors have consistently maintained that their relationship is deeply personal and not romantic. Tabu, in a 2007 interview, described Nagarjuna as one of the closest and most important people in her life, emphasizing its unique and undefined nature. ‘King 100’ is reportedly Nagarjuna’s 100th film as a lead actor, directed by R. A. Karthik.
