Rekha’s Fearless Act: Fell Off Horse, Resumed Shooting in a Minute for ‘Phool Bane Angaray’

Mumbai: Veteran actress Rekha, known for her versatility across genres, consistently delivered 100 percent to her projects, a testament to her dedication and willingness to push boundaries.

This commitment was vividly demonstrated during the 1991 film ‘Phool Bane Angaray’.

Director KC Bokadia recently recounted an incident where Rekha fell off a horse during a crucial climax scene. The scene, shot in a stadium in Udaipur, involved Rekha attacking Prem Chopra on horseback in front of approximately 50,000 people. “During the shot, the horse entered the crowd, and Rekha fell off. We were terrified,” Bokadia shared with ANI. The entire stadium reportedly fell silent in shock.

However, Rekha’s response was remarkable. “She got up within a minute, stood on her feet and said, ‘Everyone, get ready. Let’s take the shot again,'” Bokadia recalled. He praised her courage, highlighting that such fearlessness is rare among contemporary actresses. ‘Phool Bane Angaray’, which also featured Rajinikanth, was a box office success, and Rekha’s unwavering spirit during its making remains a memorable part of its history.
