Governments of many states have announced school holidays keeping in mind Diwali and Chhath Puja. This time, in some states the holidays are for only a few days, while in some places children have got the gift of a long holiday of up to two weeks. Bihar: Joint holiday of Diwali and Chhath Puja

In Bihar, the holidays of Chhath Puja have been combined with Diwali. Schools here will remain closed from October 20 to October 28, giving students and teachers time to celebrate both the major festivals. The state government believes that this will facilitate the travel of families and teachers returning to the village and will make preparations for the festival easier.

Uttar Pradesh: Total leave of 6 days

Diwali break has been kept a little shorter in Uttar Pradesh. Schools in the state will remain closed from October 20 to October 23. Also, there will be a total of 6 days holiday including 18th and 19th October (weekend). The Education Department has made this schedule in such a way that studies are not affected much and the fun of the festival is also maintained.

12 days Diwali holiday in Rajasthan schools

Rajasthan Education Department has given a big gift to the students this year. A 12-day long holiday has been declared in the state from October 13 to October 24. With this, students and teachers will get full time to enjoy Diwali with their families.

Karnataka: Schools closed from 8 to 18 October

This time school holidays in Karnataka have started even before Diwali. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced that all schools will remain closed from October 8 to October 18, 2025. Actually, this leave has been given due to Social and Educational Census (CAST Survey), so that teachers and administrative staff can participate in the survey work. In some districts like Koppal, about 97% of the survey has been completed, while work is still pending in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada. This break is proving to be a relaxing holiday before Diwali for children and teachers.

Other states will also announce holidays soon
