Justin Timberlake to Revisit Janet Jackson Super Bowl Controversy in New Docuseries

American singer Justin Timberlake is set to release a four-part docuseries on Apple TV this December, which will notably feature Janet Jackson.

The project is expected to delve into the controversial 2004 Super Bowl halftime show, where an incident involving Timberlake and Jackson became widely known as the ‘wardrobe malfunction’.

This comes years after Timberlake publicly apologized to Jackson in 2021, acknowledging the disproportionate backlash she faced compared to him. In his apology, he stated, “I am deeply sorry for the times in my life where my actions contributed to the problem, where I spoke out of turn, or did not speak up for what was right.” He further admitted to benefiting from “a system that condones misogyny and racism.”

Beyond the Super Bowl incident, Timberlake has faced personal challenges, including a 2024 arrest for impaired driving in the Hamptons, for which he received community service. He also revealed a Lyme disease diagnosis after his 2025 ‘Forget Tomorrow World Tour’, describing it as “relentlessly debilitating, both mentally and physically.”

On the music front, Timberlake’s last album, ‘Everything I Thought It Was’, released in 2024, reached No. 4 on the Billboard 200. He recently collaborated with Quavo on the song ‘House Music’.
