IPL 2027 Trade: CSK interested in England all-rounder from SRH, India pacer in Discussion

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have reportedly entered discussions over a potential trade for England all-rounder Liam Livingstone from Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) ahead of the IPL 2027 season.

However, the Hyderabad franchise is yet to decide whether it wants to part ways with the big-hitting Englishman.

With the IPL retention deadline approaching on November 17, trade discussions are gathering momentum across franchises. While the much-discussed Hardik Pandya deal continues to attract attention, Livingstone’s potential move has emerged as another interesting development in the transfer market.

According to a report by Cricbuzz, CSK are exploring the possibility of acquiring the 33-year-old, while another franchise from northern India has also reportedly expressed interest. However, negotiations remain at an early stage, with multiple teams and players potentially involved in the discussions.

CSK Explore Livingstone Trade, Khaleel Ahmed Among Players Discussed

Livingstone joined Sunrisers Hyderabad at the previous IPL auction after being released by Royal Challengers Bengaluru. SRH secured his services for Rs 13 crore, significantly higher than the Rs 8.75 crore RCB had spent to acquire him during the previous mega auction.

However, his first season with Hyderabad did not go according to expectations. The England all-rounder managed just 15 runs across two appearances before losing his place in the team’s playing combination, including the Impact Player option.

CSK are understood to be considering a trade for Livingstone as they assess their squad requirements ahead of the next campaign. Left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed has been mentioned as a possible player in the exchange, although the credibility of that particular proposal remains uncertain.

Chennai could also consider including another player alongside or instead of Khaleel as negotiations develop. However, SRH’s recent acquisition of experienced left-arm pacer T Natarajan has raised questions about whether they would be interested in adding another bowler of a similar profile.

Sunrisers Hyderabad now face a decision over whether to retain Livingstone, explore a potential exchange or consider other squad options before the retention deadline.

With November 17 approaching, the coming days could prove decisive for Livingstone’s IPL future. For now, the discussions remain ongoing, and neither CSK nor SRH has finalised a trade involving the England all-rounder.
