Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan has expressed happiness and relief over the end of Koffee With Karan, saying she will no longer have to keep appearing on the popular chat show.
The ninth and final season will feature Kareena and her husband, actor Saif Ali Khan, as guests. In a promo released on Monday, host Karan Johar announced that this would be the show’s last season.
Reacting to the announcement, Kareena said, “Quite happy and relieved. Because now we don’t have to keep coming on Koffee With Karan.” Saif, meanwhile, admitted that he felt he was “slightly miscast” on the show.
The promo also features several playful exchanges. When Karan asked Kareena who she considered Bollywood’s No. 1 female star, she immediately replied, “The one sitting opposite you.” Saif jokingly added, “You’re allowed to praise other people.”
In another moment, as Karan began saying, “Nepo babies go mainstream globally…”, Saif pressed the buzzer and quipped, “Because of you”, taking a playful dig at the filmmaker.
Kareena has appeared on the show several times, but this will be only her second appearance alongside Saif. The couple first shared the couch in Season 3 in 2010, when they were dating. Their return comes after 16 years.
