In the ‘Samarsata Conference’ in Bhopal on Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Ramayana is the soul of Indian culture. Valmiki ji gave the immortal message of social harmony, equality and humanity.
Bhopal. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Maharishi Valmiki gave an invaluable gift to humanity in the form of ‘Ramayana’, the ideal character of Lord Shri Ram. His work is not just a book, but the soul of India. Ramayana gives a living message of harmony, equality and humanity. The Chief Minister said that we learn from the life of Lord Shri Ram that everyone is equal in the eyes of God. He made Nishadraj his friend, ate false plums with the love of Shabari, adopted Hanuman and the monkey army as his family. This is true harmony – where a part of God is seen in every person.
‘Samarasata Sammelan’ organized on Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the ‘Samarsata Conference’ organized at Manas Bhawan, Bhopal on Sunday. This program was organized on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Maharishi Valmiki. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav and Rajya Sabha MP and Peethadhishwar Balayogi Umeshnath Maharaj of Shri Kshetra Valmiki Dham, Ujjain inaugurated the conference by lighting the lamp.
Social harmony is the foundation of development of society.
The Chief Minister said that the first requirement for the sustainable development of the society is social harmony. This is not just an idea, but the soul of Indian culture. When the society runs in the spirit of mutual harmony, love and brotherhood, only then the nation becomes strong and prosperous.
He said that true harmony is where a part of God is seen in every person. Maharishi Valmiki ji, through an immortal work like Ramayana, not only depicted the ideal life of Lord Shri Ram, but also highlighted the social system and human values of that time.
Inspirational journey from dacoit Ratnakar to becoming Maharishi Valmiki
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Ratnakar became Maharishi Valmiki by chanting the name of Lord Ram in reverse. His life is an example of penance, self-improvement and humanity. He not only wrote the character of Shri Ram, but also wrote about humanity.
Dr. Yadav said that Ramayana is not just a religious text, but a great example of service, compassion and social harmony. Maharishi Valmiki gave the message of service, equality and intimacy in his book through characters like father-son, Nishadraj, Shabari Mata, Hanuman and Sugriva.
Harmony is part of our soul in Indian culture
The Chief Minister said that today both Maharishi Valmiki and his Ramayana have become synonymous with each other. Ramayana not only immortalized the story of Ram, but also gave immortality to the ideals of Indian culture. He said that social harmony is not a compulsion for Indians, rather it is ingrained in our values and way of life. He said that “If we improve, the world will improve” – this sentence is the most beautiful example of harmony.
Government committed to the welfare of Valmiki community
During the program, representatives of Valmiki Samaj presented demands related to the development of the society including regularization of sanitation workers to Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. The Chief Minister said that the welfare of all the Swachhata Mitras and sanitation workers of the state is the responsibility of the government.
He said that the government is trying to ensure that the children of Valmiki community become industrialists, doctors, engineers, lawyers and officers. They will be given every necessary encouragement. The Chief Minister assured that no stone will be left unturned in the development of Valmiki Samaj.
Balayogi Umeshnath Maharaj inspired harmony
Rajya Sabha MP and head of Shri Kshetra Valmiki Dham, Ujjain, Balayogi Umeshnath Maharaj said that Maharishi Valmiki took the life of Lord Shri Ram to the common people by composing ‘Ramayana’.
He said that Lord Shri Ram presented the ideal of social harmony by embracing the boatman and eating the plum of Shabari. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also strongly promoting the spirit of harmony. His ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ is a living example of this, in which he himself inspired the society by picking up the broom.
Balayogi Maharaj said that Chief Minister Dr. Yadav is also taking this sentiment forward and solving the problems of every section of the society with honesty and transparency.
Warm welcome and fellowship at the conference
At the beginning of the conference, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was welcomed by All India Valmiki Sanatan Dharma Sabha and Madhya Pradesh Valmiki Ekta Sangh. He was presented Maharishi Valmiki ji’s picture, Ramayana and a congratulatory letter. The Chief Minister had dinner with the citizens of Valmiki Samaj.
Sunil Valmiki gave the welcome address and Ajay Kadam expressed gratitude. This program was organized by the Scheduled Caste Development Department. Its objective was to promote social harmony and to spread the ideals of Maharishi Valmiki to the people, so that the feeling of unity and coordination in the society could be further strengthened.
