According to a report by ESPNcricinfo, this tournament will be played in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia between October 4 and November 21. These dates were agreed upon in the ICC board meeting held in Ahmedabad in May. However, the final seal on this will be taken at the ICC Annual General Meeting to be held in Edinburgh in July.

According to the report, most of the 54 matches of the tournament, i.e. about 41 matches, will be held on eight grounds in South Africa. At the same time, there can be 8 to 10 matches in Zimbabwe, for which Victoria Falls, Harare Sports Club and Queens Stadium in Bulawayo have been selected. Namibia will host three matches.
This time 14 teams will participate in the World Cup
This time 14 teams will participate in the tournament instead of 10. The teams will be divided into two groups of seven each. The top three teams of each group will go to the Super Six stage. Zimbabwe’s new cricket stadium is being built

- According to the report, issues like structure of FTP and increasing the World Test Championship (WTC) are also being discussed. A final decision on these can be taken in the ICC meetings to be held in Hong Kong later this year. The ICC also has to decide whether all 12 full members will be included in the WTC and whether a one-off Test match series can also be made a part of the championship.
