Golden Opportunity for Pilots job: What is Akasa Air’s ‘Akasa Skycadet’ program to become pilots? Will this program change your career? Is there going to be a big change in the aviation sector?
New Delhi: India’s fastest growing airline, Akasa Air has announced the launch of ‘Akasa Skycadet’ programme. This is a specialized pilot training program designed to prepare future commercial pilots. In this program, training will be given as per DGCA rules and global operational standards of the airline.
The best opportunity to become a pilot
- An official statement issued by the airline said that this initiative is a major step towards developing talent, operational excellence and preparing future pilots for the rapidly growing aviation sector. The program has been developed in collaboration with two approved Flight Training Organizations (FTOs) – Skynex Aero and Dunes Aviation Academy. The objective of this program is to prepare new pilots according to the complete education of aviation, flight training and the needs of the airline.
- India’s aviation sector is continuously growing and it is expected that the demand for skilled aviation professionals and good training facilities will increase further in the future. This demand is also going to increase because Indian airlines are expanding their fleet by placing some of the largest aircraft orders in global aviation.
India needs about 35,000 pilots by 2035
Currently, Indian airlines have ordered about 1,700 aircraft and it is estimated that the country’s commercial fleet will almost triple by 2035. According to industry estimates, there are about 12,000 to 15,000 commercial pilots in India today, and by 2035 India will need about 35,000 pilots. At the same time, in the next two decades, about 45,000 new pilots will be required across India and South Asia, which will create great opportunities for the youth coming into this field.
This program is in three different phases
1. Ground School: In this, theory will be taught on subjects like air regulation, navigation, meteorology, technical information of aircraft and human performance. This will prepare the cadets for DGCA examinations and further flight training.
2. Commercial Pilot License (CPL) Flight Training: In this, dual and solo flying training will be given as per DGCA and ICAO standards, with focus on navigation, instrument and cross-country flying.
3. Type Rating on Boeing 737 Max: This is an advanced training, in which training will be given in simulator and aircraft systems. This will prepare cadets for commercial jet operation on the Boeing 737 Max fleet.
Recruitment of pilots also continues
- The program reflects Akasa Air’s ‘people-first’ philosophy and gives new pilots the opportunity to build a career with one of the world’s fastest growing airlines.
- While the Akasa Skycadet Pilot Program will strengthen the long-term pipeline of pilots in India by focusing on new hires, the airline will also continue to recruit CPL holders and B737 type-rated pilots for its growing fleet and operations.
