Mumbai, October 31: Actor R. Madhavan, known for his roles in horror films like ’13B’ and the recent ‘Shaitaan’, is set to collaborate with filmmaker Vishal Furia on an upcoming horror feature.
Furia, who has carved a niche in the horror genre with films like Marathi hit ‘Lapachhapi’ and the ‘Chhorii’ universe, expressed his clear choice for the lead.
“Madhavan sir was always my first and only choice,” Furia stated, highlighting Madhavan’s deep understanding of the genre. He further added, “He is the true OG horror star of the cult classic Indian horror ’13B’ – one of my favourite films.” Furia believes Madhavan’s conviction and experience are invaluable for creating a unique horror experience. The director emphasized their shared goal: “Together, we want to create something audiences have never seen before in Indian horror – the kind of fear they will feel in their bones!”
This new project will be produced by Rohit Ranjan under Frostlit Production Limited. Madhavan’s previous horror outings, particularly ’13B: Fear Has a New Address’ (2009), where he played a man whose family is terrorized by a spirit communicating through television, cemented his reputation. More recently, he was seen in the supernatural psychological thriller ‘Shaitaan’ (2024), where he portrayed a menacing stranger using black magic. Fans are eager to see what this collaboration between Madhavan and Furia will bring to the Indian horror landscape.
