An MBBS student studying in a medical college in Durgapur, West Bengal has been gang-raped. CM Mamata Banerjee has said in this matter that girls should not be allowed to go out at night.
West Bengal gang rape case: A 23-year-old MBBS student studying in a private medical college located in Durgapur, West Bengal was gang-raped on Friday evening. The incident site is about 170 kilometers from Kolkata. The girl student was brutally assaulted in a deserted area behind the hospital.
Don’t let girls go out at night
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee broke her silence on this matter on Sunday and gave a shocking statement. He said that girls should not be allowed to go out at night. CM said that it is not right to drag his government in this matter. The safety of the student was the responsibility of that private medical college. CM said,
Especially, girls should not be allowed to go out at night. They will also have to protect themselves. This is a shocking incident. We will not tolerate such crimes at all. Three accused have been arrested. Police are searching for the rest. No one will be spared.

What did Odisha government do in the gangrape case?
Mamata Banerjee raised the question why her government is targeted every time a rape incident occurs. Referring to the incident of about a month ago (a student was gang-raped on Puri beach in Odisha), Mamata asked, “What action is the Odisha government taking?”
Parents will take their daughter to Odisha
The MBBS student who was gang-raped in West Bengal is originally from Odisha. Her father said that he would take his daughter back home. They feel it is not safe for him anymore. The student’s father told ANI,
They can kill him here any time. So we want to take him back to Odisha. Trust has gone. We do not want him to stay in Bengal. She will continue her studies in Odisha only.
The parents of the student, who had reached Durgapur from Odisha, lodged an FIR at the New Township police station. The student’s father said, “My daughter is in pain. She is not able to walk. She is in bed.”

Police arrested three people
Let us tell you that the police has arrested S.K. in this case. Riaz Uddin, S.K. Three people named Firdaus and Appu have been arrested. Police have also detained another person suspected to be involved in the incident. A police officer said that the three accused were traced through mobile phone tower dumping method. More people may be involved in the crime, so the search is on.
