New Delhi: A woman from New Delhi took to Reddit to reveal she was touched multiple times by a middle-aged man in a Delhi metro coach. Despite confronting him, she shamelessly continued to do the same. The terrified woman claimed she was still haunted by the event.
In the post, the woman stated that she first give the man the benefit of the doubt. “At Subhash Place, one uncle, around 40 to 45 years old, came and sat next to me on the corner ladies’ seat. I didn’t mind at all. Then he tried to take his phone out from his left pocket, and his arm brushed mine. I thought it wasn’t intentional because he was a bit fat,” wrote the woman.

However, the man then brushed his arm against her body. “I was wearing a sleeved shirt, and so was he. After a few seconds, his arm touched mine again for about one to two seconds. Then, within moments, he leaned slightly towards me, and this time his arm remained in contact for nearly ten seconds until I bent forward. What shocked me next was when he placed his elbow behind my shoulder. I didn’t think anyone would go this far in a public place,” recollected the shocked woman.

Uncomfortable with the man’s inappropriate behaviour, the woman confronted him. The man then patted her shoulder and apologized to her. Unfortunately, the horror continued.
“A couple of minutes later, he placed his hand on my lap, fingers spread, and said, ‘Sorry beta, thoda thaka hua tha, bura mat manna’ (Sorry, dear, I was a bit tired, don’t mind). Before I could react, he touched my cheek for half a second, pressed my lap with his hand, and got off at Pitampura,” recollected the woman.
The woman told Redditors that she froze as she wasn’t expecting anyone to behave like that in public. She added that incident was continuing to disturb her.
“Last night, I kept thinking about his hand on my lap. It still feels like that. Writing this has helped a little, but I know this moment will haunt me again. If anyone can advise me on how to deal with this, I’d be grateful. I never thought something like this could affect me so much,” said the woman.
Many consoled her in the comments. They also condemned the incident.
