After the blockbuster success of Gadar 2 and Jaat, Sunny Deol has been on a movie-signing spree. The Bollywood actor has exciting and big movies like Lahore 1947 , Ramayana: Part 1 , and Border 2 . And now, it has been reported that Sunny has collaborated with Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment for a new film.
According to a media report, the project is said to be an action thriller.
Sunny Deol to star in larger-than-life action thriller?
As per Pinkvilla report, Sunny is apparently teaming up with Excel Entertainment for the first time. The project is reported to be a big-budget action thriller.
“The two stakeholders have been in talks for a while now, and are excited to collaborate on a high-concept big-budget action thriller. Sunny loves the script and is excited to partner with Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani on the film,” a source told the entertainment portal.
The source further mentioned, “It’s a larger-than-life feature film with Sunny Deol in an avatar that the audience loves to see him in. Excel too is going all out to ensure that their maiden collaboration with Sunny turns out to be a special treat for the cinema-going audience, with a lot of intense and high-on-drama moments.”
It’s also said that Balaji, who worked as an assistant director on Tamil movies, will make his directorial debut with this project. If all goes well, the makers are reportedly planning to take the film on floors in December this year.
Sunny Deol’s work front
On the work front, Sunny will next be seen in Border 2 with Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty. The film is scheduled for a big-screen release on January 3, 2026. Next year, the actor also has Ramayana: Part 1’s theatrical release lined up on Diwali. He plays the role of Lord Hanuman in the mythological epic.
