Unveiling its new content strategy, Eros Innovation has announced three major projects – Eros Brahmand, Eros Universe and Eros Remastered. Along with this, it has also been made clear that 6 popular and superhit films will be taken forward with sequels. The world of superhit films will return to Eros Universe
Under Eros Universe, a plan has been made to promote six popular films in a new franchise model. These include Tanu Weds Manu – The Next Chapter, Phobia, English Vinglish, Desi Boyz, Rangeela and Tere Naam. New stories and new characters can be seen in these projects. After the announcement, the most discussion is about the new chapter of ‘Tere Naam’. According to reports, this film may not be a direct sequel to the original story, but may be made with a new perspective. In such a situation, there is no confirmation at present regarding the return of Salman Khan’s iconic character Radhe. ‘Tere Naam’, released in 2003, is counted among the most powerful performances of Salman Khan’s career. The film received immense love from both the audience and critics.
‘Rangeela’ will get a new avatar
‘Rangeela’, released in 1995, had created a distinct identity in Indian cinema. The film’s music, story and Urmila Matondkar’s acting were highly appreciated. Now preparations are being made to take the world of this film forward with new characters and a new story. Because of this, the possibility of Aamir Khan and Urmila Matondkar returning is not clear at the moment.
Big update on ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ franchise too
Most excitement is visible about ‘Tanu Weds Manu – Next Chapter’. The previous two films of the franchise starred Kangana Ranaut and R. Madhavan was in the lead roles. Mitakshara Kumar will direct the new film. This project is set to be brought on the floor in 2026. However, no official announcement has been made yet on the return of Kangana and Madhavan.
‘English Vinglish’, ‘Desi Boyz’, ‘Phobia’ will also get expansion
Eros’ plans are not limited to films only. The company also plans to develop these popular titles into films, animation, microdrama and character-based content. ‘English Vinglish’ is included in the memorable films of late actress Sridevi, while ‘Desi Boys’ featured Akshay Kumar and John Abraham. Radhika Apte played the lead role in ‘Phobia’.
Eros Universe: Huge cinematic universe to be built on mythological stories
Eros has also announced a new mythology-based cinematic universe called ‘Eros Universe’. It will include a total of nine original projects. These include ‘Nandi: War of Kailash’, ‘Dwarka Gateway to the Universe’, ‘Viman Wars’, ‘Mahabharat 5000 AD’, ‘Yakshinij’, ‘Brahmrakshak’, ‘Garuda’, ‘Kumbhayanna’ and ‘Manasa Devi’. The company claims that all these stories will be inspired by Indian mythology and folklore and will be a part of an interconnected world.
Classic films will return through Eros Remastered
The third initiative is Eros Remastered, under which classic films will be brought to new audiences with modern technology. Its aim is to reintroduce old popular films to the new generation. Kishore Lulla, Founder and Chairman, Eros Innovations, said, “We are bringing together new stories inspired by mythology, audience favorite film franchises and classic cinema on a single platform. Our aim is to create stories that connect with audiences across generations and across mediums.”
