At the 70th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2025 With Gujarat Tourism, Nitanshi Goel was honoured with the Best Debut Female trophy. She played the lead role with Pratibha Rannta in Laapataa Ladies , directed by Kiran Rao.
Her character, Phool, was the epitome of innocence and resilience. While Nitanshi made her Bollywood debut with Laapataa Ladies, she isn’t new to acting.
Who is Nitanshi Goel?
Nitanshi has faced the cameras since she was a child. Before signing Laapataa Ladies as the lead, she played pivotal parts in television shows. Born on June 12, 2007, Goel started her acting career at the age of 9 with the daily soap, Ishqbaaaz, as young Anika (later played by Surbhi Chandna).

She featured in many historical and mythological shows such as Naagarjuna – Ek Yoddha, Karmaphal Daata Shani and Daayan. Nitanshi played young Kashibai in Peshwa Bajirao. Besides these, the young actress showed her acting prowess in Thapki Pyar Ki and Inside Edge. Nitanshi was 16 when she did Laapataa Ladies.
Before her breakthrough debut, Nitanshi was awarded Teen Actress of the Year at an awards ceremony. For Laapataa Ladies, she was nominated for Best Debut Female and Best Actress (Critics). While the 18-year-old won the former award, the latter went to her co-star Pratibha Rannta.
In 2024, Nitanshi had two releases. Laapataa Ladies was her Bollywood debut, whereas Maidaan featured her in a brief role as Seerat. At the 70th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2025 With Gujarat Tourism, Nitanshi defeated Ahilya Bamroo – I Want to Talk, Anjini Dhawan – Binny and Family, Dhvani Bhanushali – Kahan Shuru Kahan Khatam, Pratibha Ranata – Laapataa Ladies and Pashmina Roshan – Ishq Vishk Rebound to win the Best Debut Female award.
Upcoming film
After Laapataa Ladies, Nitanshi is reportedly doing a Telugu film with Vijay Deverakonda’s younger brother Anand Deverakonda. As per an early report in Filmfare, it is touted to be a high-energy entertainer backed by Sithara Entertainment.
