This is the major reason for increasing heart attacks among youth, AIIMS doctors cautioned… – News Himachali News Himachali

If we look at the statistics of the last decade, we find that the risk of many types of chronic diseases is increasing rapidly in India. Many types of diseases related to diabetes, heart disease and metabolism are affecting people at an early age, due to which lakhs of people die every year.

Deaths due to heart attacks have been making headlines in recent years, with cases being seen in people as young as 20. Many new things have come to light in a report regarding this.

A team of experts from AIIMS has warned that people trying to build their body are consuming steroids recklessly, which is not only causing many negative effects on the body but has also significantly increased the risk of heart attack among the youth. This obsession with making the body attractive is proving to be serious for health.

Use of steroids is very harmful

Health experts say that in the desire to make the body structure attractive, the youth of the country are indiscriminately using steroids, due to which the cases of bone loss, hormonal imbalance and heart attack are increasing rapidly. Senior doctors of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi have termed it as a public health crisis and demanded immediate prevention.

People going to the gym should be careful

In the race to get ‘muscle mass’ and ‘cut physique’, the use of steroids has increased rapidly among the gym-going youth in Indian metros and small towns. Misguided by fitness trainers and social media influencers, many youth are consuming anabolic steroids and performance enhancing drugs, whose long term side effects are life threatening. Government monitoring of these dangerous steroids is very lax.

What do experts say?

Doctors of the Endocrinology Department of AIIMS Delhi warned that every month dozens of cases of bone melting due to steroids are being reported in India. According to orthopedic specialist Dr. Rajesh Malhotra, 25-30 year old youth who are taking steroids in the name of fitness are being forced to undergo surgeries like hip replacement even before the age of 40.

Dr. Nikhil Tiwari of AIIMS says, people are not able to understand that this is damaging their bone marrow. If awareness is not increased, young bone disease may become an epidemic in India in the next 5 years.
