Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo (BRESE) 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on November 2nd.
This significant event will gather participants from over 130 countries, including global leaders, investors, and innovators, highlighting India’s growing commitment to clean energy.
Several nations, including Australia, Denmark, and the European Union, will join as country partners, emphasizing international collaboration. Santosh Sarangi, Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, stated that India’s clean energy transition is in a crucial phase. With 308 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity already installed, the country is well on its way to achieving its ambitious target of 500 GW by 2030. This goal requires an estimated investment of USD 220 billion between 2027 and 2030, alongside significant advancements in energy storage and transmission networks.
BRESE 2026, themed ‘Invest. Innovate. Inspire.’, will run for four days, coinciding with the 9th International Solar Alliance (ISA) Assembly and the 4th International Conference on Green Hydrogen (ICGH). These combined events offer a comprehensive platform for discussions on renewable energy investment, international cooperation, and emerging technologies.
Thirteen Indian states and Union Territories, including Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat, will showcase their renewable energy potential. India currently ranks third globally in renewable energy and solar installed capacity, and fourth in wind power, demonstrating its leadership in the global clean energy transition. The summit aims to strengthen international cooperation and mobilize investment, particularly for emerging economies.
