Iran’s new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is hiding in a secret bunker fearing an Israeli-American attack. He is communicating only through hand-written letters, away from electronic devices, which is delaying diplomatic talks.
Tehran: A shocking news has come to light regarding Iran’s new Supreme Leader Mujtaba Khamenei. According to reports, he is hiding in a highly secured intelligence bunker. It is being told that they fear that Israel or America may carry out a deadly attack on them. Therefore, he has distanced himself from all communication devices like mobile, radio etc. International media claims that he is talking to top government officials only through hand-written letters, which are carried by his trusted messengers. Reports quoting intelligence agencies also say that Khamenei is taking the same precautions that al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden used to take at his intelligence hideout.
On February 28 this year, America and Israel conducted a joint airstrike, in which Mujtaba’s father and the then Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed. According to reports, Mujtaba was also injured in this attack. After the death of his father, Mujtaba Khamenei was made the Supreme Leader of Iran. Since assuming power in March, he has not appeared in front of the public even once. He is not using telephone or any other electronic device due to fear of surveillance by Israeli spy agencies. They are managing only by sending hand written letters through intelligence messengers.
Khamenei’s hiding in this way is having a direct impact on the ongoing diplomatic talks between Iran and Western countries. It takes weeks for proposals and agreements coming from America to reach Mujtaba Khamenei and receive a response. Even top Iranian officials do not know where he is living or how to contact him. Iran’s representatives involved in negotiations often have to wait long for instructions from their leader.
There are also reports that he is currently undergoing treatment in an underground bunker in the holy city of Qom in Iran. Many other senior officials of the country have also gone to underground bases due to fear of Israeli drone attacks. The entire responsibility for Khamenei’s security rests in the hands of senior commanders of the Iran Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
