Prime Minister Narendra Modi gifted agricultural projects worth Rs 41 thousand crore to farmers in New Delhi. 2 crore farmers will benefit from the launch of Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana and Pulses Self-Reliance Mission.

Raipur, 11 October 2025. In the main function organized at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today gifted agricultural projects worth more than Rs 41 thousand crore to the farmers of the country. On this occasion, he launched two new schemes – Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana and Pulses Self-Reliance Mission.

The Prime Minister said that Rs 30 thousand crores have been approved for the Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana and Rs 11 thousand crores have been approved for the Pulses Self-Reliance Mission. Along with this, he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of more than 1100 projects in the agriculture and infrastructure fund, animal husbandry, fisheries and food processing sectors.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai participated in the launch of this campaign through video conferencing with thousands of farmers from the Farmers Auditorium of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur. During this, Union Agriculture Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Minister Shri Rajeev Ranjan Singh, Union Minister of State for Agriculture Shri Bhagirath Chaudhary, Chief Ministers of various states, Agriculture Ministers, MPs and MLAs also joined virtually.

New direction of agricultural self-reliance

The Prime Minister said that on the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Jayaprakash Narayan and Nanaji Deshmukh, the country is creating a new history of agricultural self-reliance. Both these schemes will prove to be a milestone in the direction of empowering farmers and making farming modern and profitable.

He informed that projects worth more than Rs 11 thousand crore are being started under the Pulses Self-Reliance Mission. The Prime Minister said that India’s agricultural exports have increased over the years and there has also been significant growth in allied agricultural activities like honey production, animal husbandry, fisheries.

Special scheme for backward districts

The Prime Minister said that just as the Aspirational District Scheme has brought changes in the fields of education, health, roads and electricity, similarly under the Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana, a special action plan will be made for the development of agriculture in 100 backward districts of the country.

He said that through 36 new schemes, concrete steps will be taken towards increasing the income of farmers and strengthening the rural economy. The Prime Minister said that with the participation of young farmers, the picture of farming will change and the economic condition of the farmers will be strengthened.

Two crore farmers benefit from pulses self-reliance mission

The Prime Minister said that the objective of the Pulses Self-Reliance Mission is not only to ensure agricultural self-reliance but also to ensure nutritional security. He said that protein is essential for the development of body and mind, and for this it is necessary to increase the production of pulses.

At present India is not able to fully meet its pulses requirements. This mission will increase pulse production and approximately two crore pulse producing farmers will get direct benefits.

Three districts of Chhattisgarh included

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said that it is a matter of pride that Jashpur, Korba and Dantewada districts of Chhattisgarh have also been included in both these schemes. On behalf of the three crore people of Chhattisgarh, he expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Agriculture Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan.

The Chief Minister said that these schemes will change the picture of farming and strengthen the economic condition of the farmers. On this occasion, he inspected the exhibition stalls set up by the Agriculture Department and also provided tractors, keys of agricultural equipment and checks of grant money to the farmers under the Agricultural Engineering Sub Mission Scheme.

Farmers are getting huge savings

Chief Minister Sai said that today is the era of ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan’ under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. He said that farmers are directly benefiting from GST reforms.

He said, “I went to a tractor showroom, where I found out that after the GST reform, farmers are saving Rs 40,000 to Rs 60,000 on the purchase of a tractor. A farmer brother saved more than Rs 1 lakh on the purchase of a harvester — it was great to see this.”

Farmer friendly initiatives of Chhattisgarh government

The Chief Minister said that the state government has fulfilled all the promises made to the farmers. Paddy is being purchased at Rs 3100 per quintal and the outstanding bonus of two years has also been paid.

He said that Rs 2800 crore has been approved to repair more than 1500 irrigation schemes in the state. He said that under the leadership of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a historic scheme like Kisan Credit Card was started, which changed the economic condition of the farmers.

Sai said that most of the farmers of Chhattisgarh are marginal and small farmers, who are getting huge benefits from the agriculture friendly schemes of the government. The state government is continuously working for the welfare of farmers and these new schemes are a concrete step in that direction.

On this occasion, Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Seed and Agricultural Development Corporation Mr. Chandrahas Chandrakar, Chairman of Fishermen Welfare Board Mr. Bharat Matiyara, Chairman of Cow-Service Commission Mr. Vishesh Patel, District Panchayat Raipur Chairman Mr. Naveen Aggarwal, Member Mr. Saurabh Saheb, Agriculture Production Commissioner Mrs. Shahla Nigar, Raipur Collector Mr. Saurabh Singh, Agriculture Director Mr. Rahul Dev, State Seed Corporation MD Mr. Ajay Agarwal, Director of Horticulture Department Mr. S. Jagadishan Rao, Director of Fisheries Department Shri Nag, many public representatives and farmers were present in large numbers.
