SC Ralhan, President of the Federation of Indian Export Organizations, said that due to the imposition of heavy tariffs on China by America, the demand will be transferred to India. India has exported goods worth $86 billion to America in 2024-25. This simply means that India can benefit from the increased US-China tension.
America has imposed 100 percent additional duty on Chinese goods from November 1, 2025. Tariff It has been announced that the total duty rate on sugar imports will be around 130 percent. There is 50 percent tariff on Indian goods
Currently the US tariff on Indian goods is 50 percent, which is more than China’s 30 percent. A textile exporter said that now imposing 100 percent additional duty on Chinese goods will give us an edge. He said that the imposition of heavy tariffs by America on imports from China will create huge opportunities for India to export to America.

Indian exporters have this hope
Another exporter said that the tariffs will affect China’s exports to the US as it will increase the prices of their goods in the US market, making them less competitive. Toy exporter Manu Gupta also said higher duties on Chinese goods would help attract buyers from both countries. Gupta said that this will help us. “Higher tariffs will bring equality and give us equal opportunities.”
