Actress Sunainaa has condemned the circulation of an alleged AI-generated obscene video featuring a digitally altered version of her face and warned of legal action against those responsible. The actor, also known as Sunaina Yella, clarified that she had no connection to the image/video and had never consented to its creation or distribution. In a statement shared on Instagram and X, she called the incident as a violation of her dignity, privacy and identity. Sunainaa also cautioned social media users against forwarding or reposting the video, mentioning that anyone involved in circulating it could face criminal and civil proceedings.
Sunainaa Condemns AI-Generated Obscene Video
Sharing a statement on Instagram, mentioned how artificial intelligence had allegedly been used to make a person appear like her. “It has come to my notice that an AI video is being circulated on social media and other online platforms in which my face has been morphed, using artificial intelligence, onto obscene content. The content is digitally generated or manipulated, with a person made to resemble me in appearance, likeness and persona,” she wrote.
Expressing her anger over the incident, the Neerparavai actor added, “I am appalled and disgusted by this vile and malicious act, and I condemn it in the strongest possible terms.” Sunainaa stated that she had not given permission for the video to be made, published or shared. She also rejected any association with the material, calling such suggestions false and misleading.
Sunainaa Threatens Action Against AI Misuse In Statement
Sunainaa, who was part of Vijay’s called the alleged manipulation as an infringement of her privacy, identity and dignity. She said the act amounted to sexual harassment and defamation and cited the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, in warning of possible legal consequences.
The actor has called on those responsible to stop producing, uploading or circulating the video, including edited versions and variations. She has also demanded that anyone with the content remove it from platforms, accounts, groups and devices under their control.
“I will initiate criminal and civil proceedings, without further notice, against every person responsible for creating, publishing or circulating this content. Anyone who shares it further will also be held liable,” she stated.
