Mumbai, October 27: Actor Prateik Chaudhary believes that an actor’s journey from television to films or OTT platforms hinges on a blend of luck, relentless hard work, sincere dedication, and the crucial ability to connect with audiences.
Speaking to IANS, Chaudhary highlighted the unique hurdles TV actors face when aiming for the big screen or digital platforms.
He emphasized that opportunities are no longer confined to traditional channels, with social media now playing a significant role. “I think it depends on your luck. If you are lucky, people may pick you up from Instagram and give you a film. They may discover you through YouTube. There is no single platform where you have to compete with everyone,” he explained. Chaudhary also pointed out that success isn’t guaranteed, and a television career doesn’t automatically lead to stardom. “Sometimes, it is not necessary that every actor becomes successful or that you become a star through television,” he added.
Beyond external opportunities, Chaudhary stressed the importance of an actor’s attitude and interpersonal skills. “I think it depends on your luck, how hard-working you are, how sincere you are towards your work and how you are as a human being. How you treat people and how you connect with the audience also matter,” he shared. He underscored the significance of good intentions, stating, “If you have good intentions, I think no one can beat you. In the end, your intentions and actions matter.”
Recalling his early days, Chaudhary mentioned his first paycheck of Rs 3,500 per day, a sum he still values. He clarified that his entry into acting was driven by passion and a desire to connect with people, not financial gain. “Honestly, because we love our work so much, it is not always about how much you earn in the beginning. Earlier, no one used to look at the money. Everyone wanted to showcase their work to people. That’s why we came into this line,” he concluded. Prateik Chaudhary is known for his roles in popular television shows like “Paramavatar Shri Krishna” (2017) and “Sindoor Ki Keemat” (2023).
