Johar, known for his close ties with the superstar, took to social media to amplify the buzz around the project, declaring Shah Rukh Khan as “The ONE and Only KING.”
Sharing the dramatic new poster of ‘King’ on his Instagram Stories, Johar enthusiastically wrote, “And he is back!!!!!!! The One and Only King!!!! #King.” This sentiment was echoed by actor Ananya Panday, who commented, “Christmas present for everyone,” alongside heart-eyed emojis, highlighting the film’s festive release.
The new poster, unveiled by Shah Rukh Khan just days before his 61st birthday, showcases him in a fierce, vengeful avatar. He is seen wielding a gun, emerging from a tunnel engulfed in flames, a visual that promises an intense, action-packed cinematic experience. His unbuttoned dark shirt reveals a bloodied chest, adding to the gritty appeal.
Shah Rukh Khan’s cryptic caption with the poster, “Aaj phir yaad aaya…Qaatil nahi… Aashiq hoon…#KING,” further fueled fan speculation. Directed by Siddharth Anand, ‘King’ is slated for a grand theatrical release on December 24, 2026. This film marks a significant reunion for Shah Rukh Khan and Anand, following their blockbuster collaboration ‘Pathaan’ in 2023.
