During Ramlila in Lahra village of Kasganj, 8 people were injured due to the attack of wild jackal. Three children and elderly women were also affected. Police took the injured to the hospital, villagers are demanding increased security from the Forest Department.
A horrific incident in Kasganj district of Uttar Pradesh has left the local people in panic. During the Ramlila being held on Friday night in Lahara village of Soron Kotwali area, a wild jackal suddenly entered the stage and attacked the audience present there. Eight people have been seriously injured in this attack, including three children and several elderly women. The jackal also targeted the cattle which created panic in the village.

Like every year, this time also Ramlila was organized in Lahara village and a drama was going on on the stage. Meanwhile, a jackal suddenly entered the crowd. The uncontrollable jackal started attacking people furiously. The attack was so intense that there was screaming. Local villagers told that Mayawati (45), Radhe (60) and his wife, four-year-old girl Rashmi, Rakesh (40), Horilal (45), Prashant (9), Ankit (16) and Ajit Lehra (50) were injured in this violent action of the jackal.

Police and hospital did quick rescue work
After the incident, police and local people reached the spot and succeeded in driving away the jackal. The injured were immediately admitted to Soron Community Health Center where after first aid the serious patients were referred to the district hospital. Treatment of all the injured is going on and their condition is said to be stable.

Panic among villagers due to increasing wildlife problem, demand for action from forest department
Local people are demanding the Forest Department to immediately increase surveillance in the area and catch wild animals. Villagers say that security is in danger due to the increasing presence of wildlife nearby. Even before this, such attacks have taken place several times in the area, due to which the local people are distressed and are appealing to the administration to tighten security arrangements.
