Hyderabad, Telangana: Actors Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna have approached the Hyderabad Cyber Crime authorities, filing a formal complaint against ongoing online trolling following their appearance on the popular show ‘Koffee With Karan’.
The couple’s team seeks an impartial investigation into specific online content targeting them.
The complaint meticulously details various forms of online harassment, including alleged false narratives, fabricated content, manipulated screenshots, impersonation, and targeted online harassment across multiple social media platforms. Relevant links and supporting evidence have been submitted to the authorities for thorough examination.
Vijay’s team released a statement expressing hope that the matter will be investigated in accordance with the law. They emphasized that the deliberate creation and circulation of misleading narratives, especially any coordinated or paid campaigns, should be addressed appropriately. The statement also indicated that every instance of publishing, reposting, or amplifying potentially unlawful content would be examined on its own merits, with appropriate legal remedies pursued where warranted.
While the complaint has been filed, an official confirmation from the police regarding the commencement of the investigation is still awaited.
Earlier this week, both Rashmika and Vijay had publicly addressed the incessant trolling on their respective Instagram accounts. Vijay’s post affirmed their happiness and commitment to each other, stating, “My best friend, my wife, my woman. One of the most beautiful parts of my life that I got absolutely right. For all those concerned, We are both gloriously happy.” Rashmika, in a detailed post, clarified misunderstandings regarding their relationship revelations on the show, urging people to focus on love and personal happiness rather than spreading negativity. She passionately defended her love for Vijay, stating, “I am OBSESSED with my man. When did that become a bad thing?”
