Kalash sthapana: In Hinduism, the establishment of the Kalash during worship has special significance. The Kalash is considered a symbol of the presence of deities and is also considered a source of auspiciousness, purity and energy. But often people do not know where the urn should be kept while worshiping and what should be its direction. In this article, we will explain in detail where and how the Kalash should be established at the time of worship and what are the religious and Vastu reasons behind it.
The right direction to keep the urn
According to Vastu, the northeast angle (North-East direction) is considered the most auspicious for the installation of the Kalash. This direction is considered to be the place of deities and this is where positive energy flows. If the place is not available in the northeast, then you can also install the urn in the north or east direction.
- Ishaan angle (North-East): This is the best direction because it is considered the center of gods and positive energy.
- North direction: This direction is also considered auspicious for wealth and prosperity.
- East direction: Due to the direction of sunrise, it is also considered auspicious and sacred.
Where should the urn of worship not be kept?
According to Vastu, the Kalash should never be installed in the fire angle (south-east) (south-west) or (northwest). Keeping the urn in these directions does not give full fruits of worship and may also have negative effects.
Method of urn
For the installation of Kalash, first of all select a clean and flat place, where you want to install the urn. Make a little soil altar at that place and place barley or seven types of grains on it. The most important thing, do not keep the urn directly on the ground, always install on a post, patriot or grain. After this, fill the urn with Ganga water or pure water. Add Akshat (whole rice), betel nut, coin, durva and flowers to it.
Place 5 or 7 leaves of mango on the face of the urn. Install coconut wrapped in a clean red cloth over it. The coconut should always face towards the worshiper. Make a swastika with a kumkum and do tilak. Call the gods and pilgrimage to the Kalash by law. After worship, sprinkle the water of the urn throughout the house and put the rest of the water in the plants. You can feed the grains or mix in the soil.
Importance of installation of urn
According to the scriptures, in the Kalash, Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh are called to all the rivers, oceans and pilgrimages along with the three gods. It is also considered a subtle form of the universe. The installation of the urn brings positive energy to the house and removes all the negative powers. It helps in making worship successful and complete, but also invites divine energy.
