This time rainy havoc has come in Mandi district in Himachal. In this season, there has been a lot of devastation in the market due to rain, floods, cloudburst, flash floods etc. Now this morning once again the heart -wrenching tragedy came to light, which made the entire city tummy.
A sudden flash flood, who came to a house on Jail Road in Mandi city, killed three people from the same family. As soon as the news of death reached the daughter, she shouted loudly-“My father died…”.
Daughter in deep shock
Hearing his screams, everyone around was stunned. The pain of losing the mother, father and brother in front of the eyes was feeling clean in his screams. Daughter fell unconscious due to deep shock, who was immediately admitted to the hospital. Darshan Singh, a elder member of the family, who has been injured in the accident, is being treated at the regional hospital in Mandi.
The incident took place at around 4 am when the flash came flood after a sudden heavy rains in the city. Balbir Singh, who lives on jail road, came out with his entire family in an attempt to save his auto from a strong current.
Daughter sent to take rope
Balbir’s daughter was sent to bring a rope so that the auto could be tied, but during this time the flow of water became so fast that Balbir Singh, her sister -in -law Sapna Devi and nephew Amanpreet Singh aka Sunny were in the grip of water. All three died on the spot.
Saved life by digging soil
The injured Darshan Singh said that the water pressure was so tremendous that he took it inside a shutter. He was buried in the soil, but somehow he was able to dig out of his hands and save his life.
After this painful accident, Palace Colony councilor Hardeep Singh and administration reached the spot. He told that the deceased Balbir Singh was a working person and used to feed his family by driving an auto. The accident happened when he was trying to save his livelihood.
Former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur also expressed grief and met the victim’s family and consoled. Confirming the incident, DC Mandi Arindam Chaudhary said that relief work has been intensified after three deaths and a relief camp has been set up in Vipasa Sadan for the victim families. This accident is a warning not only for Mandi but the entire Himachal that it is necessary to be vigilant every moment in this era of changing weather and climate.
