New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent address to Parliament provided details of Operation Sindoor, India’s response to the April 22nd Pahalgam terror attack. The speech, which focused on India’s decisive action against terrorism, highlighted the speed and precision of the operation. Modi revealed that the operation was launched within 22 minutes of its planning stages, targeting terrorist camps located within Pakistan.
The Prime Minister emphasised that the Indian Armed Forces were given complete autonomy to conduct the operation. The swift and effective response, Modi claimed, has caused significant disruption among the perpetrators and their masterminds, leaving them severely impacted and sleepless.
Modi framed the response as a demonstration of India’s newly established stance against terrorism. This new normal, as he termed it, is characterised by decisive and swift retaliatory action. He directly addressed critics and doubters, positioning the session as a celebration of India’s victory over terrorism.
The operation is presented as a testament to the strength and valour of India’s armed forces, and a display of effective tri-service coordination between the Navy, Army, and Air Force, which reportedly surprised Pakistan.
