Rahul Gandhi ‘Liar of Opposition’, Not Leader, Alleges Gujarat BJP

Gujarat BJP chief spokesperson Anil Patel has launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, labeling him the ‘Liar of Opposition’ instead of ‘Leader of Opposition’.

Patel accused Gandhi of spreading misinformation about constitutional institutions, particularly regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

In response to these allegations, the BJP is set to launch a statewide ‘Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy’ campaign. The initiative, kicking off with a march in Surat on Sunday, aims to counter the Opposition’s claims and bolster public trust in democratic processes. Further events are scheduled for Ahmedabad and Rajkot on October 27, and Vadodara on October 28.

Patel criticized the Congress for attempting to sow distrust in institutions like the Election Commission, attributing their actions to ‘political frustration’. He emphasized that the BJP’s campaign will present facts to the public, focusing on India’s democratic history, the role of constitutional bodies, and past instances of alleged Congress overreach, such as the Emergency and the use of Article 356. The campaign will involve rallies, press conferences, public outreach, and discussions with citizens and youth on themes like ‘Democracy vs Mobocracy’.
