Adhir Ranjan rejected the rumors that there is talk of merger of Congress and Trinamool Congress (TMC). Chaudhary clearly said that he has no knowledge of any such conversation and he is completely ‘in the dark’ on this matter. Amid heightened political speculation following high-profile meetings between top leaders of the two parties, Rahul Gandhi and Abhishek Banerjee, Choudhary maintained a measured stance.

Adhir Ranjan Choudhary said- “I don’t have any information about any merger or such things in Bengal. If there is any formal decision, we will definitely be taken into confidence. If I am asked about it, I will speak, but right now I don’t know anything at all.”
Trinamool Congress suffered the biggest blow
Chaudhary said, “Regarding TMC, you all see that the party is scattered; senior leaders of the party are running here and there.” Taking a dig at his past and present attitude towards the Congress, he said, “For so long, he never felt the need to meet Congress party leaders. But now, he feels maybe he should.”
In another blow to the Trinamool Congress, Rajya Sabha MP Sushmita Dev on Wednesday resigned from the membership of the party and the Upper House. This comes amid the ongoing discord within the party and a spate of resignations following its defeat in the assembly elections.
