A serious case of alleged negligence of doctors has come to light in the capital’s prestigious King George Medical University (KGMU). Ankit Mishra, a resident of BKT area, alleged that his father was taken to Lari Hospital after suffering a third heart attack, but no treatment was given in the emergency for about an hour.

Ankit says that when his father was brought to the emergency of Lari Hospital at 1 o’clock in the night groaning in pain, the doctors present there not only refused to treat him but also drove him away from there. He alleged that a doctor named Dr. Gaurav misbehaved and said, “This hospital does not belong to anyone’s father.”

“Put the catheter yourself” – alleged statement of the doctors

The victim says that when the father needed to urinate, the doctors refused to put a catheter and told him to put it in himself. Ankit alleged that during this time the hospital staff also beat him up and threw him out.

After suffering a third heart attack late on Thursday night, Ankit admitted his father to SM Hospital (Bitholi), from where he was referred to Lari Hospital. But after reaching there, instead of treatment, he faced alleged harassment. According to Ankit, his father was admitted to the ICU at 10:30 am on Friday but after a few hours he was shifted to the normal ICU. In this entire matter, the victim’s family appealed to Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak for justice.

Video viral, prompt intervention of Deputy CM

This incident went viral on social media through video. The matter reached Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak, after which immediate action was taken against the hospital administration. Brajesh Pathak himself called and talked to Ankit Mishra and ensured timely treatment for his father. Ankit Mishra, while sharing the second video, expressed his gratitude to the Deputy CM and called him “Messiah”. The victim’s family said that if there was no timely intervention, their father’s life could have been in danger.
