Diaper Rule For Newborn: It is necessary to wear a diaper to protect children from wetness, but not everyone knows when to wear the diaper and when to remove it. In such a situation, Dr. Nihar Parekh has told the diaper rule, by which you can protect the child from rashes and infection.
Baby Diaper Care Guide: The biggest challenge for new parents regarding the skin care and hygiene of their little one is when to wear and when to remove the diaper. It seems quite easy to use a diaper in the initial months after the birth of a child, but wearing it wrongly or not changing it on time can cause problems like skin rashes, infection and irritation. The skin of newborn babies is very delicate, so even a little carelessness here can cause huge problems for the children.
When to wear diapers?
Always wear diapers only when it is necessary to keep the baby dry for a long time – like while sleeping at night, while going out or when the baby has to complete his sleep. Try to keep the baby diaper-free for some time during the day so that his skin can breathe. This maintains air circulation in the skin and reduces the risk of rashes or fungal infections.

When to change diaper?
According to pediatric expert Dr. Nihar Parekh, it is important to change the baby’s diaper every three to four hours – whether it is wet or not. Because moisture and bacteria keep accumulating in the same diaper for a long time, which can cause rashes and infections on the skin.
If the child has pooped, it is important to change the diaper immediately. After potty, always clean the child’s skin from top to bottom. Many times people mistakenly clean from bottom to top, due to which bacteria reach the urinary tract and this increases the risk of UTI (Urinary Tract Infection), especially in girls.
When to remove diaper?
If the baby is at home and the weather is hot, keep the baby without a diaper for some time during the day. This removes moisture and warmth from the skin and provides comfort to the child. Also, if diaper rashes or red bumps appear, stop wearing the diaper immediately and apply diaper rash cream or natural oil (like coconut oil) as per the doctor’s advice.
Right way to clean after diapers
Every time after changing the diaper, clean the baby’s skin with lukewarm water or a cotton cloth. After cleaning, let the skin dry and only then wear a new diaper.
Also, do not use too much baby powder or cream before wearing a diaper, because they clog the skin pores. It is best to simply apply a moisturizing cream or diaper rash protection layer.
