Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana: Under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, 25 lakh new LPG connections have been recently approved across the country. In Chhattisgarh, it will be extended to 1.59 lakh mothers and sisters through “Sushasan Tihar” and “Niyad Nella Naar Yojana”. With this, women of Chhattisgarh will now be able to use clean and safe fuel.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said that this scheme gives respect to women and the light of health and cleanliness. “The light that Ujjwala Yojana has spread in women empowerment will become the basis for the development of the entire society in the coming years.” With this scheme, the mother power of Chhattisgarh, which has always been the pivot of family and society, will now be able to fulfill daily needs like cooking in a safe and pollution-free environment.
How many women are already benefiting?
About 38 lakh women in Chhattisgarh are already taking advantage of the Ujjwala scheme. Now 1.59 lakh more women will be included in it. This decision will bring a major improvement in the standard of living of women in rural and forest areas of the state.

The Chief Minister clarified that the state government, under the leadership of the Prime Minister, is committed to providing LPG connection to every eligible woman. This means that now any woman, whether from a city or a remote village, will be able to take advantage of the Ujjwala scheme.
