News9 Global Summit: India is not just a partner of Germany, there is a relationship of trust between the two – Dr. Nicole

Dr. Nicole Hofmeister-Kraut

Once again, the stage has been set for the second edition of the much awaited News9 Global Summit of India’s leading news network, TV9 Network, in Germany. This time the News9 Global Summit is being organized in Stuttgart, Germany, in which like last year, this time also the strengthening of bilateral relations between India and Germany is being discussed amid the changing global system.

In the second edition of News9 Global Summit, Dr. Nicole Hofmeister-Kraut, Minister of Labour, Economy and Tourism of Germany addressed the topic INDIA & GERMANY THE LAND BECKONS, about which we are telling you in detail.

Dr. Nicole Hofmeister-Kraut welcomed

I am very happy to join the second edition of News 9 Global Summit Germany today in Stuttgart. This city is a symbol of inspiration, innovation and international spirit. In fact, the state of Baden-Württemberg is a vibrant and progressive place, where tradition and culture meet, and where technology and an open-minded approach are of utmost importance. We come together at a time when the world seems more uncertain than ever. Volatility in global markets, political tensions, and the need for sustainable solutions remind us that you are all welcome on behalf of the Department of Economy and Tourism of Baden-Württemberg. You are warmly welcomed to the Parliament of Baden-Wurttemberg. Thank you very much to all the guests, ladies and gentlemen from India and Germany, for your warm welcome.

350 German companies are working in India

About 350 companies in India are operating from Baden-Wurttemberg and about 50 Indian companies are active in Baden-Wurttemberg. Because of this our state has become an important investment partner of India. Some of the well-known companies from Baden-Wurttemberg in India are Mercedes-Benz Group, Robert Bosch, and Club Cables. The total trade between Baden-Wurttemberg and India in the year 2024 will be about 4.2 billion euros, which mainly includes trade in machinery, electrical equipment and motor vehicles.

India is not just an economic partner

India is not just an economic partner for us, but is a symbol of a long and trusting relationship that has been going on for years at the state and city level. This year the partnership between Baden-Wurttemberg and Maharashtra is completing 10 years. Additionally, the long-standing partnerships between cities such as Stuttgart and Mumbai, and Karlsruhe and Pune further strengthen the depth of our mutual cooperation. On this basis, we are working together in areas like exchange of skilled workers and vocational training. A major step in this direction was taken in February 2024, when a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Baden-Wurttemberg and Maharashtra, laying the foundation for deeper cooperation in these areas.

Our state invites Indian partners to take these relationships further so that together we can move forward towards sustainable development and innovation. This conference is once again being organized in collaboration with the VfB Stuttgart club which itself is building strong ties with India through sports. During my visit to India, I had the opportunity to visit Sudeva Delhi Football Club, with whom VfB Stuttgart has launched a youth partnership program for youth training camps and tournaments. TV9 Network MD Barun Das and Reuven Kasper, CMO and board member congratulated Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut on her birthday and gave her a bouquet and shawl.
