Karwa Chauth Aarti: The festival of Karva Chauth falls on the Chaturthi date of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month. This date is on 10th October. On this day, married women observe a fast for the long life of their husbands. According to belief, at the time of moonrise, women decorate plates and offer water to the moon. After this, they look at their husband’s face through the sieve. After the puja, the husband breaks his fast by offering water to his wife. After this both of them take Prasad.
Before offering Arghya, it is customary to worship Lord Ganesha along with Lord Shiva, Parvati and Kartikeya in the evening. Women not only listen to the story of Karva Chauth, but also perform the aarti of Karva Mata. They first perform the Aarti of Lord Ganesha because it is believed that Lord Ganesha is remembered first in any ritual or worship. After this, Aarti of Karva Mata is performed and the puja ends.
