BJP Slams Sanjay Raut: ‘Balasaheb’s Heirs Standing with Forces Destroying Our Religion’

New Delhi: BJP National Spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi on Wednesday sharply criticized Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut’s ‘regime change’ remarks.

Trivedi alleged that those claiming Balasaheb Thackeray’s legacy are now aligning with groups detrimental to India’s religious and cultural fabric.

Addressing a press conference, Trivedi questioned Raut’s understanding of Rahul Gandhi’s strategies, asking about the ‘conspiracy formulas’ Raut seemed privy to. He highlighted Raut’s confident assertion that ‘if things from Vietnam come in, there will be a regime change,’ and demanded to know the secret information Raut possessed about Rahul Gandhi that even Congress leaders might not have.

Further, Trivedi linked Raut’s comments to Rahul Gandhi’s foreign trips, noting a pattern where discussions of ‘regime change’ often follow such visits. He suggested that Raut’s statements might be influenced by ‘unknown, suspicious forces’ from across the border aiming to destabilize the country.

Despite these concerns, Trivedi expressed confidence that any attempts at ‘regime change’ would fail against the resolve of India’s 1.4 billion citizens. He affirmed that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the nation’s unwavering faith would shatter such ambitions.

Trivedi’s comments came after Raut claimed that demanding a change in government is not anti-democratic and accused the central government of election fraud. Raut had boldly predicted a ‘regime change’ in Maharashtra and across India within six months, asserting its necessity for national interest.
