Festive Gold Demand Likely To Stay Strong Despite Price Volatility: Industry Experts

Gold demand is likely to remain strong this festive season despite volatile prices as per industry experts. Analysts also believe consumers are increasingly focusing on transparency, lightweight jewellery and exchange options as well as options that will help them in the long-term.

Kaushlendra Sinha, CEO, Indian Association for Gold Excellence and Standards told Times Now Digital, “this festive season, gold demand is expected to remain strong as consumers continue to view gold as a trusted store of value. While gold prices seem to have softened up from the highs, we see this as an opportunity. Confidence in gold continues to hold firm. Today’s buyers are more informed and conscious in their purchase decisions, placing greater importance on purity, ethical sourcing, and transparency alongside design and value. Trust is increasingly emerging as a key factor in jewellery purchases. At the same time, lightweight jewellery and old-gold exchange programs continue to gain traction, reflecting evolving consumer preferences. Demand is expected to be driven by informed choices and long-term confidence in gold.”

Industry experts remain hopeful about achieving 15-20 percent growth this festive season compared to last year. Suvankar Sen, MD and CEO, Senco Gold said, “consumer sentiment remains positive as customers gear up for the festive season, using Navratri and Dussehra to plan their jewellery purchases ahead of Dhanteras. We are optimistic about achieving over 20 percent growth this festive season compared to last year, driven by sustained demand across jewellery categories. Natural diamond jewellery, in particular, is witnessing strong traction in the everyday-wear segment, which is growing at over 25–30 percent, reflecting consumers’ increasing preference for versatile, wearable pieces. While lab-grown diamonds continue to account for a relatively small share of overall sales, the category is also expanding, albeit on a smaller base. We remain confident about the festive season and the opportunities it presents for the jewellery industry.”
