In Dariyapur village of Belaganj police station area of Gaya district of Bihar, the happiness of a marriage turned into surprise, shock and questions in just a few hours. The groom, who had arrived with the wedding procession from Rajasthan, was hopeful that his bride would bid farewell in the morning and go home, but as soon as the sun rose, a mystery came to light which brought the entire village into discussion.
The house where the wedding rituals took place throughout the night was found locked in the morning and the entire family including the bride was missing. According to the information, Sanjay Patwa, resident of Tonk district of Rajasthan, had reached Dariyapur village with his family members on Monday night. The marriage took place with traditional customs in the presence of both the parties.
Jewelery was given to the bride
There was an atmosphere of joy and happiness in the wedding ceremony and no one had any idea that after a few hours this marriage would become a sensation in the entire area. Groom Sanjay Patwa alleges that before the marriage, financial transactions took place after talks between the two parties. He had given the bride many jewelery and clothes including mangalsutra, ring, anklets. Apart from this, Rs 1.10 lakh was sent as ‘Shagun’ through online medium on the mobile number provided by the bride’s side.
After the marriage, the groom and his family were accommodated in the village itself. When preparations for the farewell started on Tuesday morning, local people informed that the door of the bride’s house was closed. When the groom’s party reached there, the house was found locked. On inquiring around, it was found that all the family members had gone somewhere in the darkness of the night.
Realizing fraud, called the police
As soon as the information about the incident was received, people from the groom’s side started searching for the bride and her family, but could not find any clue. Where till a few hours ago there was the splendor of the wedding and the echo of Shehnai, the sudden silence stunned everyone. Claiming themselves to be victims of fraud, the groom’s side informed Dial-112 and reached Belaganj police station and lodged a written complaint. After receiving the complaint, the police has started investigating the matter.
Police Station Head Sunil Kumar Dwivedi said that an application has been received from the groom’s side. The police is thoroughly investigating the case on the basis of available documents, records of online transactions and identification of the persons concerned. The truth of the entire incident will be revealed only after the investigation is completed. This unique incident of Dariyapur village has now become a topic of discussion in the entire area. People are linking it to possible fraud in the name of marriage. However, the police is investigating all aspects before reaching any conclusion. At present, a marriage which started happily seems to be ending amid mystery and questions.
