Mom was right: Those things which seemed bitter in childhood, now I understand their real meaning. – News Himachali News Himachali

A large part of our childhood has been spent in ignoring our mother’s words, which we considered very ‘boring’ or ‘useless’ at that time. Sleep early, don’t skip meals, save money, or stay away from bad company.

These were some such phrases which seemed like restrictions to us. But as we grow up and get caught up in the struggles of our household or career, we realize that mother was not just saying things, but she was teaching us the biggest management course of life.

Those words of mother which I could not understand then, I understand now –

1. value of money-

In childhood, when we used to crave for toys or chocolates and our mother refused, we used to think that she was stingy. But today, in the last week of the month, when the bank balance is low and the bills are standing in front of you, then you understand why mother used to say that money does not grow on trees. Today we understand that their small savings were the biggest shield of the house.

2. outside food-

We used to squint at the sight of homemade gourd and ridge gourd and fight over burgers and pizzas. Mother always used to say that only home-made food is good for the body. Today, when the hustle and bustle of office and eating oily food outside causes stomach upset or weight gain, then mother’s simple dal and roti seem to be the tastiest and healthiest food in the world.

3. wake up early-

Even on holidays, mother used to remove the window curtains at 7 in the morning. We used to get very angry then. But now, when there is no time for oneself amidst the workload, then I understand that if I wake up an hour early in the morning, then the whole day becomes so peaceful.

4. Fruit of patience-

We wanted everything immediately, but mother always said, have some patience. In today’s world of instant coffee and 10-minute delivery, we have lost our patience. But when there is confusion in big projects or relationships, then I remember my mother’s words that the best solution is to give time to some things.

5. Understand everything without speaking-

It is surprising how mother could know that we were going to be ill or that we were worried about something. What we considered as espionage in childhood, today we understand that it was his selfless love and deep observation. Today we feel alone even amidst thousands of people, then we miss that one person who used to know everything without saying anything.

From PM Modi to Virat Kohli, the mother of these greats taught the real mantra of success.
