At close on Monday,   came under heavy selling pressure, with Sensex plunging nearly 900 points as investors turned cautious amid a volatile market environment.

At close, Sensex was down 876.37 or 1.17% at 73,852.90 while Nifty was at 22,888.95, down by 257.20 points or 1.11%.

The index opened nearly flat at 23,150.85 and touched an intraday high of 23,175.25 during the opening minutes. After moving sideways during the first half of the session, selling pressure intensified, dragging the index to an intraday low of 22,845 before a minor recovery towards the close. The session reflected renewed bearish pressure, with the index failing to sustain higher levels and ending significantly lower.”
