‘Rawalpindi Chicken Tikka Masala’ to ‘Balakot Tiramisu’: IAF Day menu takes a cheeky dig at Pakistan

The Indian Air Force (IAF) seemed to serve up a side of satire this year — quite literally. A picture of the Air Force Day celebration menu has gone viral on social media, featuring dishes inspired by Pakistan and the IAF’s successful strikes during Operation Sindoor and Operation Bandar in 2019.

From Rawalpindi Chicken Tikka Masala to Balakot Tiramisu, the tongue-in-cheek menu reportedly marked the IAF’s 93rd anniversary with a pinch of humour and a patriotic twist.

The creative naming of the dishes appears to reference India’s 2019 Balakot airstrike and the recent Operation Sindoor.

According to the viral image, the starters and main course included items like Rawalpindi Chicken Tikka Masala, Rafiqui Rhara Mutton, Bholari Paneer Methi Malai, Sukkur Sham Savera Kofta, Jacobabad Mewa Pulao, Sargodha Dal Makhani and Bahawalpur Naan, while the dessert section listed Balakot Tiramisu, Muzaffarabad Kulfi Faluda and Muridke Meetha Pan.

Each dish seemingly symbolised a location or event connected to the IAF’s air raids that inflicted major damage on Pakistan’s terror infrastructure.

A day after the Air Force Day celebrations, army veterans, defence enthusiasts and other netizens took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the menu, calling it a “masterclass in subtle mockery.”

News9live could not verify the authenticity of the menu.

While IAF has made no official statement about the viral menu, it has already captured the internet’s imagination.
