But a case that came to light from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh is completely different from all these, where the honeymoon itself became a major reason for dispute between husband and wife and the matter reached the point of divorce.
The marriage took place through a matrimonial website
According to media reports, this case is related to a woman resident of Ramraj area of Meerut district and a youth resident of Patel Nagar, Delhi. The marriage of both was fixed through a matrimonial website. After the consent of the families, both of them got married.
Husband took family along with him on Nainital honeymoon
According to the information given in the Family Counseling Centre, after the marriage, the newly married couple had gone to Nainital for honeymoon. However, the wife got a big shock when she came to know that her husband had also included his parents, brother and sister in the journey. The wife’s hope was that the honeymoon would be only the private time of the husband and wife, but due to the presence of other family members, her hope could not be fulfilled.
Constant fights started after honeymoon
After returning from Nainital, there were continuous arguments and disputes between husband and wife regarding this issue. The wife said that due to living with family members, both of them could not spend enough time with each other. He believed that the purpose of honeymoon is to strengthen the relationship between husband and wife, but this could not happen due to being with the family.
Husband said- family’s happiness is also important
On the other hand, the husband, who had studied hospitality management from Singapore, had a different view. According to the counsellor, the husband said that he wanted to keep all his family members happy, so he took them along on the trip. She refused to believe that taking the family on the honeymoon was any kind of mistake. According to him, there was nothing wrong in it.
Controversy increased regarding Dubai trip
According to the report, the dispute escalated later when the couple planned to visit Dubai. The wife hoped that this time both of them would travel alone. But the husband once again expressed his desire to include his family members in this journey. After this the differences between the two became more serious.
The matter reached the police station
After increasing controversy, the matter reached the local police station. The police tried to reach a compromise between the two parties and resolve the dispute, but no solution could be found. After this, the matter was sent to the Family Counseling Center located at Police Lines, where with the help of experts, efforts were made to bring about reconciliation between the husband and wife.
Even three rounds of family counseling were ineffective
The counselor of the Family Counseling Center conducted three separate counseling sessions with both of them. In these meetings, both husband and wife were given full opportunity to express their views. According to the counselor, during the conversation both of them made many serious allegations against each other. However, despite many efforts, both stuck to their respective stances.
Both remained adamant on their decision to separate.
Even after three rounds of counselling, no agreement could be reached between the husband and wife. Every attempt at compromise failed and both refused to change their decision. Ultimately, the matter was not resolved and the couple stuck to their decision to separate. This incident has now become a topic of discussion regarding the importance of personal expectations, family interference and mutual understanding in relationships.
